FATHER FREEH'S SING-A-LONG
We were blessed to have Bishop LaValley celebrate Mass at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart for the 50th Anniversary of The Sacred Heart Foundation on Sunday, June 4th, 2017.
The Sacred Heart Foundation celebrated its 50th Anniversary this year. Founded by Rev. Pierre Aubin and administered by a Board of Directors, the foundation has awarded nearly $1.8 million in scholarships to men in formation for the priesthood around the world. The US Missionaries of the Sacred Heart currently work in our Diocese at St. Patrick's and St. Anthony's (Father Das!) and at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and the Catholic Community of Cape Vincent, Chaumont and Rosiere. They are also in parishes in California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Florida, as well as in Colombia and Papua New Guinea, bringing the love of the Heart of Jesus to parishes, educational and job training programs, retreats, prisons, Native American reservations, and to many other places through their daily interactions with the people they serve. Congratulations to the MSC and to the Foundation!

SHIRLEY SAUTER, MUSIC DIRECTOR
RETIRES AFTER 17 YEARS
After 17 years as Music Director at Sacred Heart, Shirley Sauter has decided to retire on June 25th. Throughout those years she has selected and provided music for the Masses, directed the choir, trained cantors to lead the singing, played at funerals, weddings, and special occasions. Shirley has been playing for churches since the 1970’s, and some of the choir members have been with her for over 40 years. It is with deep regrets that we see her go, but wish her many more happy years in her retirement. Shirley's hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed.
Thanks go out to Don and Theresa Male and their crew for organizing, cooking and serving a fantastic BBQ.
It was delicious! GREAT JOB.
Also, thank you to all the following volunteers who helped to make this the social event of the year:
To Carl Franks and his crew who worked diligently on the Silent Auction, and to all the parishioners who donated a basket
To Mary Henry and the Sacred Heart women for baked goods and for the Hot Dog and dessert booth
To Richard and Jean Doell for working the Quilt Booth
To Sara Sharlow, Joe and Shannon Foy and Steve Elliott for the great music
To Steve Denner, Adam Mancini and all those who helped set up the gym, and stayed to clean it up
It was a successful day – it couldn’t have been done without all of you – THANK YOU
